2009

As 2009 comes to an end. For us the Valderrama Family was a good year, a busy year, and a stressful year. Probably like most everyone else.

For us this year Brooke turned 5 this year she learned how to ride a bike. She is our Princess she loves everything about makeup, lotions and smelling good. She even got a vanity for Christmas. Brooke loves to read.

Dylan turned 8 this year. He was baptized this past Aug. He learned how to ride his bike too. He loves trains and cars. When he turned 8 he joined Cub Scouts and likes it. Dylan also enjoys schools and playing outside with he friends.

Melanie is working hard, with both work and taking care of the kids. She does a great job with both. Melanie as participated in our ward Roadshow and loved and she was very good in it.

As for me, I am just working hard. I am glad the Lakers are Champions this past summer. I am sad that USC had a bad year. They will bounce back next year.

Those are some of the highlights of 2009 from the Valderrama family. I hope everyone has a Happy 2010 Year.

A Valderrama Easter

Easter this year was a lot like Christmas. The night before Dylan and Brooke were in bed before 9PM(that hardly ever happens) then after they were asleep Melanie and myself got the Easter baskets ready. Then as everyone was sleeping at 4:30am Dylan and Brooke woke up and were ready to check there baskets. Melanie was able to get them to lay there for about another half hour then they were up and ready to go to excited. So they had to wake me up. Then they got their baskets and found Easter eggs. That is why Easter is a lot like Christmas for us.

Playing in the snow

Over the Christmas week it snowed everyday. Some days worse than others. After all said and done we got about 2 feet of snow. After the snow plows came through our street we had some mounds of snow. So Dylan and Brooke along with some of there friends went out to play in the snow and do some sledding. Brooke loved it and Dylan not so much. I remember growing up and taking trips to mountains of Southern Cali and go tubing and sledding. One time when I was tubing I went down the hill and into this turn and on the other side of of the turn was a tree waiting for me. I hit that tree and I ended up with this huge not on my forehead. The memories of sledding.

Snow

It is always nice to have the first real snow of the season. After that it is great if the snow does not come back. The snow maybe pretty to look at but I do miss the California sun. If I had a choice I would live in Utah but with the California weather. I have never been much into trying the winter sports but I do like the summer sports. Being on the lake at Lake Powell or Lake Havasu is better than freezing your you know what off on an frozen mountain.

Trick Or Treat

It's that time to dress up and get candy. My kids were excited for Halloween. Before it was dark the kids where ready to go trick or treating. My parents were in town so they came over to take the kids. So before they came I took the kids around to a few homes until my parents came, and when they got here we where ready to go. By the time we were ready to go it started to rain. So we went trick or treating in the rain. Dylan dressed up as a racecar driver and Brooke dressed up as a BYU cheerleader. They got lots of candy and wet. There was a couple of houses that really decorated their porch so well that Dylan was to scared to go up, but Brooke on the other hand as long as myself or grandma or grandpa went with her she went up to the scary porch. The kids like all other kids got lots of candy. How was your Halloween?

The Zoo

Also during our tip to Cali the kids wanted to go to the LA Zoo. So we took them there too and my parents were able to come. It is a fairly big zoo. The kids had a great time even though it was about 100 degrees that day. We saw a cool bird show. Dylan liked the Bear, elephants, Zebras, and the Giraffe. The Giraffe was his favorite though because of its long neck. Brooke liked the Tiger, Hippo, and the Flamingos. She likes the Flamingos the best because they are Pink. The kids had a good time at the zoo.
